VINTAGE IN MAINSTREAM SHOPS

Went shopping along Crown Street yesterday. My bee-line towards Minty Meets Munt. I didn't find what I went there for but that's not the point.

Anyway. Before I went got out towards Oxford Street (while I was till in the QVB I mean) I went into pretty much every store to just browse. The Sportsgirl accessorises store had a section along the back wall with vintage items they store had bought from various places, and was selling back to the public. There were shoes, belts and bags. Each had a little tag on them that explained where the item originated from.

Towards the end of my shopping trip I went into American Apparel. Someone once told me they had a vintage line. So I wanted to check it out. I honestly do not get the piont of American Apparel, I was pretty suprised to see people in the store (lol). Anyway, the vintage line isn't American Apparel owned (I read the label on the clothes). It's an ebay store called California Select. The store sells American Apparel as well. I'm guessing they have some sort of agreement.
I realised saying vintage line means there's a lot of clothing, but it's probably two racks about 50 cms long.

I kind of like finding vintage pieces in mainstream shops, it's a really refreshing change. If only ever Sportsgirl did this. I also like how Sportsgirl see it as a recycling factor. It's nice to see they're doing it for a good purpose, and not just to make extra money. But I could be wrong!
