SPHERICAL EGG

A spherical egg was found in England last week by James Church, a 27 year-old Chef, during his morning shift.

I found the article on Gizmodo, where author Kyle VanHemert says he did a Google search to see how common this discovery was. Well, Kyle didn't really find many other sightings, but did find a YouTube video which shows another round egg discovered in 2008. However, the 2008 sighting isn't quite as round as Jame's egg.

SEWING LAMP

Funky and unique Sewing Pattern Lamps by Umbu can be found on Etsy. They are all one of a kind, completely different to what you would find in stores like Ikea and Domayne, and are $160 USD each. They are made of various materials including old sewing patterns, road maps and even newspapers.

The designer, Umbu also sells table lamps with addition to the hanging ones. But I am however questioning the safety of these things, so I do know that if I owned one I would never turn it on just out of pre-caution lol.

AMERICAN APPAREL

I'm not a massive fan on American Apparel, mainly because of the soft-core porn they display through their models, but there are few cute things up there. Below are some of my favourites right now.
Girly Lace Ankle Socks - $9 USD; a pair

This one by far is my favourite, there are 24 different shades in this nail polish collection and each shade is so unique. I absolutely adore half of the ones available. They're $6 each and can be purchased in pre-packaged sets of 3 and 7.

Amanda Shoe - $80 USD

RANT RANT RANT RANTTT

Seriously need to have a massive rant today, just a roller-coaster of a day!!

Firstly, I'm so sick of CityRail being so inconsiderate towards it's patrons, the entire reason you dip-shits exist is because of the people who use trains!! Got to Glenfield station this morning and there was a power failure in the entire suburb, so I couldn't buy my ticket and proceeded to miss the super fast, one stop train to Central. Oh I should point out that Glenfield is getting a MASSIVE upgrade, which has seen the ticket window be relocated go across the road AWAYYY from the station. So I ran across the road, missed my train, only to have the CityRail worker say to me that I cannot buy a ticket and should purchase one at my destination. I told him that I missed my train by coming out here to get a ticket, he didn't care. Some decency would be nice, I'm not saying it's CityRail's fault the power was out, but he could've been a little bit more caring then saying oh well. Something that could've prevented me from not missing my super awesome train is a sign on the platform informing people to purchase tickets at their destinations.. NOT SO DIFFICULT TO DO SHITYRAIL!!!

Also, to Sally Pearson, you knew you did a false start because while you were running you were shaking head no, and had your hands over your false in disbelief over the fact that you just did a false start. So DON'T get upset that the officials took too long to make a decision.. you KNEW from the beginning you should have been disqualified, there are images of this as proof!! Also, after you had finished the race and thought you had won, you said to the cameras that you thought were going to be disqualified, so don't pretend it's anyone's fault but yours. Don't try and put your blame on the officials, they didn't do the false start... you did!!

Sigh.. I have more, but I feel better already haha

LOST WITH WHAT TO READ NEXT??

Thanks to Reuel for introducing this to me. What should I read next? is a website that will pretty much as the name suggests, help you figure out which book you should read next. All you do is pop in the name of books you like or the ISBN numbers and the search engine will give you results that are similar to the books you have read..

CHILDREN OF LESBIAN PARENTS MAY DO BETTER THAN THEIR PEERS

An article was posted on the Time's website about a study that had concluded that children of lesbian parents may have better self-esteem and confidence compared to children from heterosexual homes.

The study showed that children raised by lesbian mothers (single or partnered) scored similar to children raised by heterosexual parents in areas of development and social behaviour. However as mentioned above, they differed with self-esteem and confidence, but also academically children from lesbian families did better and were less likely to have behaviourial problems such as rule breaking and aggression.

However, it should be noted that there isn't a lot of information on lesbian mothers who premeditated their families, that is choose to have kids after they identified themselves as lesbians. And that all this information is in the preliminary stages, and still has a lot further to go. This information is really significant for those who make if significant. Your social surroundings will always impact on the type of person you become, this is merely just another example of that.

DELETE YOUR EX FROM THE INTERNET

The Ex-Blocker is a plug-in for Google Chrome and Firefox that filters your ex out of the internet for you. All you have to do is download the plug-in, and feed the person's name (full name), Twitter username, Facebook profile info and their blog URL. Too simple really.

But, don't be surprised if photos slip through the cracks, technology isn't perfect. Oh also, you'll have to set up your own email filters..

TREE HOUSE HOTEL

The Treehotel is a new hotel in northern Sweden that consists of multiple tree houses that are all designed by different architects. The multiple tree houses, which include the UFO, the room with a view and the Cabin, are designed as world class hotel rooms for the eco-conscious traveler. It gives tourists the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature without living the luxuries of modern life behind.

The image above is of the Mirrorcube, the name pretty much speaks for itself, it's like tinted windows. You can see outside into the forest and see all the animals around you, but they cannot see you. This room will set a couple back approximately $555.50 per night.

Inside the Mirrorcube room.

The hotel itself does offer activities other than throwing patrons into their forest rooms. It offers dog sledding, snow walking in pursuit of the mythical northern lights, and kayaking during winter. During summer, the hotel offers horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking.

PENCILS TO HOLD BOOKS IN PLACE??

German publishing house, Mittledeutscher Velrag, used 15 000 pencils to create this bookcase. Imagine drilling all those teeny tiny holes in precise spaces, what a pain in the back side!!

Truly a stunningly unique bookcase, but unfortunately only a one off design.

UPSIDE-DOWN CAFE

This Manhattan coffee shop, D'Espresso, is a library quite literally flipped on to it's side. Of course it's a design gimmick, but one that makes sense with the bookish patrons that come in to D'Espresso, and will also become a recognisable signature.

If you look at the above picture closely, you can see that the "floor" is the left-hand side wall with a dark hardwood.

Also, in the above image you can see that the lights are affixed horizontally, giving the illusion that gravity is having it's way with the room. Oh and if you're worried about stepping on books, don't fret the books are actually tiles printed with sepia-toned photos of bookshelves. It's all an Alice in Wonderland-esque sense that the room has been suddenly upended.

THE FACEBOOK PROFILE PICTURE FLOWCHART

The following guide, which can also be found on Gizmodo, will tell you everything you wish to know about Facebook profile pictures. I tried it with accordance to my current picture, and yea the result was correct haha.

I tried to upload the flowchart and other profile picture interpretation diagrams here but the images are incomprehensible, so you'd be best licking on the link provided above.

FOR POLAROID LOVERS

Found these cute Polaroid coasters on Etsy thanks to Holycool.net, being sold for $10USD each. The images on the coasters were taken by the designer with an analog camera, they are water proof, apparently long lasting and come with self-adhesive vinyl pads to protect your furniture. The images are adorable and definitely a must have for Polaroid lovers out there.

THE GREAT RETURN

Hey everyone, it's been a while.. Sorry about the hiatus, I've just been incredibly swamped with uni work, but another tri-mester done and dusted.

So first and foremost, I have a books update.. And also nothing much is new since July, except that I bought an elliptical trainer and I no longer have a job. So pretty much I exercise and I'm broke haha.

Anyway, hope you're ready for a mass blogging, Enjoy!! xx
